What will the Apple Tablet Look Like?

I thought I’d put together a few of Apple’s patents to give you a clearer understanding of what the rumoured Apple Tablet will look like when it’s announced later this month.

Size and Shape - Apple patent showing basic size and shape of the Apple Tablet.

Unique touch screen technology - Technology that can distinguish between fingers and palms, Apple says it allows “unprecedented integration of typing, resting, pointing, scrolling, 3D manipulation, and handwriting into a versatile, ergonomic computer input device.”

A 3D interface? - Patent showing a multidimensional desktop.

Surprisingly thin? - A new type of multitouch technology that could make touch screen devices thinner.

A gesture based interface - An earlier patent showing a gesture based interface.

What’s hot and what’s not.

Cars of the future, as a motor enthusiast and a toddler at heart, whenever I envisage cars of the future, it automatically shapes into something that would be able to travel through space, hover, have rear spoilers that have no actual use, and produce so little pollution that everytime one is actually purchased, a polar bear gets a little more of it’s home back. But in this article I would like to talk about what to look out for… in the not so distant future, so I would like to welcome a brand new addition to the green room, So what’s hot and what’s not to look out for in 2010.

What’s hot?

Ferrari 599xx: Those two X’s bring with them an additional 100 hp to the already face shattering 610 hp of the ferrari 599, this prancing pony is not one to be messed with.

2010 Range rover sport:  I found that the first installment of the sport was a disappointment, crossed fingers that this one will match eager expectations.

Fisker Karma: It’s an all-sports car with powerful features. It goes 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and can reach the top speed of 125 mph. Oh and it’s green… Apparently.

Audi A1 Sportback Concept: Aside from the looks , you could almost envisage  it gently neutering a sick baby seal back to health.

What’s not.

Mercedes 300SL gullwing: Although not officially announced as being put into production, why ruin a classic. It’s like a follow up of The Blues brothers… oh wait no that already happened.

BMW X6 M: It’s about as good off road as a Honda Jazz, and has the looks to match.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XF Q-400: With 403 Bhp and 378lb.ft of torque it sure as hell packs a punch, but does ‘Wrx broh!’ mean anything to you?

Nissan Cube: Well it’s certainly a cube…

TGR News: August 2009

Following on from my previous post, I’ve been looking into some alternate theme options and various other improvements that can be made around here. Here’s all the details, organized in convenient point-form.

  1. New writer! Though he unofficially joined us a little earlier on in the year, The Green Room welcomes Liam F. to the editorial team. His latest articles can be found at his author page.
  2. New look! As promised, here’s a quick preview of TGR’s “new look”. Please let me know if you love it or hate it, I’m open to any suggestions and still attempting (albeit rather slowly) to learn WordPress.org site development.
  3. New year! Five days from now, TGR will be one year old. We’ll take a trip down memory lane on the day with our finest moments.

Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter for quicker, less-reading-required messages and fan us up on Facebook while you’re at it for brownie points. – r.
